Resounding louder than thunder
Bounce upon the walls of my heart
Keeping me from treasured slumber
Screaming stronger than banshees
Wailing they remove all reason
Drowning out the call of solace
Plaguing me with doubt and grieving
Unworthy I hear them chanting
Hovering ever closer to me
I cover my head and silently scream
To the one who washed me clean
Then as if they never were
The moaning suddenly disappears
I sit enfolded in arms of love
A gentle hand brushing away my tears
